It's my pleasure to lead Commerz Trade Services (CTS) as CEO and to have contributed to the significant transformation of the Company over the last several years. Commerzbank's DNA is trade finance and certainly this was the reason why CTS has been founded 2012in Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur). Our initial purpose was to provide fast and high-quality services in the trade finance space to our institutional clients globally.
Over time, CTS has developed into a global shared service center that covers a wide range of operational services, support functions and IT services across the globe i.e. Europe, APAC and US. The growth story continued in 2023 we will have exceeded 400 staff. Our main office remains Kuala Lumpur but due to our rapid expansion the Management Board has decided to open a second office in Penang in 2023.
As such CTS KL plays a pivotal role in the overall Commerzbank group to ensure high scalability, efficient and digital processes and an improved profitability.
I am proud of the significant growth and the Management Team in charge of CTS KL and certainly convinced that the new strategic targets will be met. The cooperation and collaboration with our clients have always been an instrumental driver to meet our ambitious targets. At the same time our most important assets are our staffs and the transformational shift will only be successful if we adhere to our defined core values and ultimately continue to function as a team.

Commerz Academy of Trade (CAT) established in 2015 embodies Commerz Trade Services (CTS) as a training institution to develop and groom talents to explore their career opportunities within the International Trade Finance sector.
We believe in prodigious organizational development through well trained employees with enhanced skills, capabilities and knowledge are more productive and provide a better quality performance. The mission of CAT is to emerge a strong internal learning system that aligns culture to our organizational structure, process, leadership behaviours, measurements & rewards.
CTS through its CAT engages fresh graduates as Corporate Trainees and will be coached and mentored by Subject Matter Experts across various functions in trade finance environment for a period of 6 months. Upon the training completion, suitable Corporate Trainees will be offered permanent placement in CTS. As of 2021, the placement rate is above 90% and the Corporate Trainees emerged as an independent and qualified Trade Finance Professional over the years.
